1. Check that you are not being followed and be extra vigilant when leaving malls, your work, or when heading home late at night.

3. Check the street when approaching your home and switch off the radio so you can be aware.
4. Check your street for perpetrators before you leave or enter your home.
5. Be aware of vehicles parked close to your address, especially with 3 or 4 people inside.

One thing you can do is to check the battery. If the battery is low or if there is corrosion on the terminals, the starter motor may not be able to turn the engine over. You can test the battery by using a voltmeter. Another thing you can do is to listen to the starter motor when you try to start the car.
A multimeter which measures the state of charge of the battery is suitable to test a conventional car battery. In an ideal case, the voltage should read about 12.8 V if measured with a multimeter. If the voltage falls below 12.4 V, the battery should be recharged as soon as possible.
